professional development
for our educators
Our classes cover topics such as CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, Child Safety, ITS-SIDS, and Effective Communication with children.
Because the education level of early childhood teachers has been linked with quality care in numerous research studies, Partnership for Children of Johnston County (PFCJC) has made a commitment to offer high-quality professional development opportunities to child care teachers, which are aligned to the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
How We Help You Succeed
Through professional development, we strive to support early childhood teachers in the following ways:
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children
- Strive for a quality child care environment for every child
- Motivate providers to apply foundations of early learning and development when planning curriculum
- Increase provider professionalism
- Develop a professional’s passion for quality child care availability for all children
- Educate providers on the impact of the child care system on communities, families, employers and businesses
- Teach providers about of the impact quality child care has on children’s future
- Advocate for accessible and affordable quality child care
The Partnership for Children Johnston County (PFCJC) is a partner in Region 13 Child Care Resource and Referral, which includes Chatham, Harnett, Lee, Johnston and Wayne Counties. This partnership allows teachers access to a greater variety of professional development opportunities through a shared calendar. Professional Development events are identified geographically with the county abbreviation, so make sure you know which county is offering the event prior to registering. Please note: Registration processes and fees may vary per county.
