technical assistance
Did you know that 60% of parents in Johnston County work outside the home? Childcare providers are essential to our economy, as well as the school readiness of our children. As with any other small business, the cost of maintaining and enhancing quality is high. We believe childcare development centers deserve some help. At Partnership for Children of Johnston County we offer this help for free.

What Exactly is Technical Assistance?

In short, Technical Assistance is an opportunity for us to come in to your classroom or center to support you in providing quality care. The first step in the process is an assessment of the center as a whole – we look at activities, equipment, and child/teacher interactions. You will be assigned a specific Technical Assistant from Partnership, who will be your contact for all your needs. They will get to see the strengths and best practices, and identify any gaps that might need reinforcement. From there, you will review the assessment together with the childcare center director or owner and discuss next steps.

The process is all about growing and becoming stronger as a teacher and as a company! We want you to succeed so that our youngest generation can have all the help they need in succeeding in the future!

Once we have created a plan together, your Technical Assistant comes on-site to the center and works with you to set up sustainable changes that will help reinforce your strategies. Usually, the process is spread over 6 months to a year, depending on the type of work that teachers and administrators want assistance with. We will also establish a maintenance schedule with you and stop back to check on your progress regularly.

Our goal is the same as yours: to help the children of Johnston County develop into healthy, socially skilled kids who have a love for learning and are prepared to enter kindergarten ready to succeed!
